Pivot brings Denise Hanlon - The Ambassador of Awesome to our HR event
31/01/18
‘Customer is king’ is an age-old business mantra. Similarly, in the world of work, ‘employees are our most valued assets’ is also common rhetoric. Is there any reason to conclude that both should be treated differently? What is HR’s view? Pivot along with their partners Enboarder and Fuel 50 are bringing together a panel discussion on this topic this March.
Denise Hanlon is one of the panellists in this discussion. Denise has managed to successfully straddle the ‘hard’ and ‘soft’ sides of Human Resources and brings a wealth of knowledge as well as some crazy ideas about how to make a workplace truly awesome! With more than 20 years’ experience in Human Resources and Finance, Denise prides herself on her portability across a range of sectors and industries. Before joining the Winning Group, Denise worked in telecommunications, financial services, not-for-profit and the public sector. Prior to moving into Human Resources, most of Denise’s earlier career was in finance-centric roles – where her commercial brain was honed. Her work experience is backed up by some smarts too – achieving her MBA in 2003 and Masters of Finance in 2009. At Winning Group, she is responsible for helping to create the best possible experience for the Winnings team.
A finalist for the 2017, HR Director of the Year, Denise continues to challenge traditional approaches to HR with a determined focus on approaching things in a way that gets the best out of people. With a firm belief that everyone is brilliant at something, Denise continues to defy convention in motivating performance. Her passion for performance and remuneration is based on realities of life. She “detests” bureaucracy and in particular, mandated performance management processes. To Denise, one size does not fit all. Denise sees her role as Head of HR to facilitate an environment and provide tools where individuals can choose their own adventure. We are looking forward to listening to this self-proclaimed, Ambassador of Awesome bring us refreshing insights in the talk hosted by Enboarder, Pivot and Fuel 50.
